    Angling Quests

    By: LureSecure

Old Bait ShopTimes past anglers relied on publications, bait shops and fellow fisherman for their information on new techniques and products. Now with the internet and social media like Facebook and other similar resoures the sportspeople of the world have come together in a way that allows for interactions on a scale never seen before. Example: I catch a fish then post in detail how fish was caught, where it was caught and with whom I was with when the fish was caught, than upload a photo to Facebook and/or other web site. And now thousands of other like-minded anglers get to see my great accomplishment of the day and I get to enjoy the great accomplishments of other anglers.  With this greater contact to the world wide community of sportsmen and women I have been learning of techniques and lures and fish species from around the world that I may not have known of in past eras of a slower pace of communication between fishermen.

LureSecure Facebook Fan PageDo I need this type of instant information to be a better angler? No, I could just be as happy with the old ways of hanging out at bait shops and local watering holes to get my latest updates on the latest lures or knots maybe even a new hot hole on the lake. But I’m a person of the 21st century and I now go online with many hundreds of thousands of fishing enthusiast of all types. Maybe a man from the Ukraine has a knot I have never tied before or a lady bass pro from Australia gives me a “good catch mate” on a fish I just posted on my web page. These kinds of interactions with strangers have an intimacy I find comfortable just as I would at the boat landing discussing the day’s events with others I don’t know. The long distances are closed and I think that the world gets a little friendlier which gives me a better understanding of my fellow anglers the world over because of the latest technologies. So if you’re reading this and have a story to tell or something else you’d like to share here my ears are open to all Angling Quests.
