I’m 25 years old and have been fishing since I was a little kid. I don’t remember the first time I went fishing, but I was just as hooked as all the fish. I fished as much as possible for any species that was available. I fished the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair regularly with my Dad. I started fishing solo out of a boat when I was 12. I bought my first boat, an 18 foot Mirrocraft, when I was 18.
I started fishing tournaments in 2009 and became even more hooked on fishing. Tournaments offer me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of walleye, and test my skills with some of the best walleye fisherman in the country. My first year fishing the FLW Leauge I finished 6th overall in the Michigan Division for co-anglers and went to the Championship in Chippewa Falls, WI. In 2010 I was one of the youngest people to fish an FLW Walleye Tour event. I fished with my tournament partner Brian Woodard in all 3 events for the MWC Eastern division.
I now fish out of a 2011 Ranger 621 and plan on fishing even more tournaments in the upcoming seasons. I fish about 150 days a year on Lake Erie and the Detroit River. I recently received my Charter Captains License and will be doing Charters in 2011. In addition to fishing, I love to play Ice hockey, travel (Mexico is my favorite), workout at the gym, and try new restaurants. I work as a firefighter for the City of Hamtramck. I have been a fireman for seven years, five of which have been with Hamtramck. The city of Hamtramck is a small city located directly in the middle of the City of Detroit. We are a very busy department, which occasionally makes it very difficult to going fishing the next day. I’m fortunate enough to have a job that allows me enough time off to pursue my dreams of fishing as much as possible.
