Hi there,my name is Brian Woodard and I am a fishing junkie! My first fishing memory was of my father taking me fishing on the banks of the Huron river in southeastern Michigan. My father was not a “fisherman”, but recognized that his son wanted to go fishing so fishing we went! A few hours on a bank and one fish on the stringer was all it took…I was hooked!
Fishing of any type after that day was good enough for me, until the day when i felt my first Detroit river walleye crush a jig and minnow, game on…I had found my new passion! From that point on I submersed myself myself into every article, video, and seminar available. Several years later I decided to throw my hat at a local tournament to see where i stood. After a good showing against a ton of local river rats, the tournament fire was lit!
2011 will be my third year of competition at the high level of tournament fishing circuits. In my first two years of competition I placed in the money at several events! I was a championship qualifier in my first year fishing the Michigan Walleye Tour, and finished 11th overall in championshp. That same year I fished and qualified for the FLW walleye league championship in Wissota, Wissconsin. 2010 was my rookie year fishing the Cabelas Master Walleye Circuit with my teammate Andrew Oleksiak.
I am also a small business owner along with my #1 supporter… my wife Sherriden. We have two beautiful kids, daughter Mackenzie and son Jordan. I am looking foreward to an exciting 2011 Tournament Season as well as pursuring my Charter/Guide liscense in the very near future. I also serve on the board of directors at the Downriver Walleye Federation, as well as being member #351 of the NPAA (Nat. Pro Angler Assoc.)
